Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) \u2013 The Iraqi Security Media Cell (ISMC) confirmed on Monday that airstrikes successfully eliminated a group of terrorists in the Zaghitoun Valley area in the northern Iraqi province of Kirkuk.<\/p>\n
After receiving comprehensive information from the Military Intelligence Directorate, Iraqi security forces discovered an active terrorist hideaway, according to a statement cited by the state-run Iraqi News Agency (INA).<\/p>\n
F-16 fighter jets of the Iraqi Air Force launched two successive attacks, destroying and killing all terrorists sheltering within the hideout.<\/p>\n
The statement did not indicate the number of casualties or disclose their identities, nor did it provide further details regarding the nature of the targeted group.<\/p>\n
The ISMC affirmed that the Iraqi armed forces are continuing to pursue terrorist hideouts throughout the country.<\/p>\n
The operation is part of ongoing security efforts aimed at targeting ISIS terrorists in the Zaghitoun Valley, an area that has recently experienced multiple Iraqi ground operations and airstrikes.<\/p>\n
On July 20, the Joint Operations Command announced the destruction of six ISIS hideouts in the Zaghitoun Valley as part of an intelligence-driven security operation that included area sweeps.<\/p>\n
