Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) \u2013 Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi paid a visit to the National Investment Commission (NIC) on Thursday to examine investment plans, project execution processes across the country, and strategies to boost growth in line with the government\u2019s agenda.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Al-Zaidi emphasized the NIC\u2019s critical role as a strong supporter of the country\u2019s economic goals, stating that the government is actively developing long-term relationships with foreign companies, according to the Prime Minister\u2019s Office (PMO).<\/p>\n
The prime minister ordered a special emphasis on the strategic project of the Development Road, notably through the expedited construction of connected industrial cities to create an integrated economic environment.<\/p>\n
The NIC was directed to make a significant contribution to the government\u2019s flagship housing plan, which intends to deliver one million residential plots to home-deprived individuals.<\/p>\n
Al-Zaidi emphasized that Iraq welcomes investment opportunities and aims to establish long-term partnerships with investors. He added that Iraq has significant opportunities that need to be turned into tangible projects that benefit the economy and society.<\/p>\n
The prime minister indicated that it is important to develop the agricultural sector by transforming deserts into arable lands to boost agricultural and livestock production and create jobs.<\/p>\n
