DUBAI – Iranian parliament speaker Mohammed Baqer \u200bQalibaf said on \u200bFriday that Iran must plan to \u200bovercome “unjust sanctions”, a day after U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced what he described as the toughest sanctions \u200cever imposed \u2060on \u2060Iran.<\/p>\n

Bessent said on Thursday the measures would be detailed \u200bon Monday, suggesting they could lessen the need for further \u200bmajor military operations.
Qalibaf, one of Iran’s most influential political figures and Tehran’s top negotiator in \u200btalks with the United States, \u2060said economic \u200cdevelopment and security were closely \u200blinked.<\/p>\n

He \u200baccused the United States and Israel \u2060of waging economic and “cognitive” warfare after concluding \u200bthey could not prevail in a \u200bdirect military confrontation with Iran and Iraq.<\/p>\n

“If you look at the resources and raw materials of Muslim countries, you will realize that our enemies come to plunder them,” Qalibaf \u200ctold Iranian and Iraqi business representatives in Baghdad, according to his Telegram \u200bchannel.
“Therefore, we \u200bmust make plans \u2060to deal with the unjust sanctions so that we can overcome them.”<\/p>\n
