{"id":261423,"date":"2026-08-23T16:08:12","date_gmt":"2026-08-23T16:08:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/261423\/"},"modified":"2026-08-23T16:08:12","modified_gmt":"2026-08-23T16:08:12","slug":"source-to-post-israel-syria-meeting-amid-tensions-went-well","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/261423\/","title":{"rendered":"Source to &#8216;Post&#8217;: Israel, Syria meeting amid tensions &#8216;went well&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A meeting held on Sunday between Israeli and Syrian officials &#8220;went well&#8221; amid ongoing efforts to lower tensions between the two countries, a source familiar with the meeting told The Jerusalem Post.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Those in attendance included Mossad chief Roman Gofman and Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani, according to N12 News.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting came after comments from al-Shaibani to Reuters on Saturday, in which he urged Israel to seize a &#8220;historic opportunity&#8221; for diplomacy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">&#8220;We believe there should be contact, especially with a party that constantly threatens the security of Syria.
