{"id":261502,"date":"2026-08-23T17:42:12","date_gmt":"2026-08-23T17:42:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/261502\/"},"modified":"2026-08-23T17:42:12","modified_gmt":"2026-08-23T17:42:12","slug":"saar-bans-two-anti-israel-swedish-meps-from-entering-israel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/261502\/","title":{"rendered":"Sa&#8217;ar bans two &#8216;anti-Israel&#8217; Swedish MEPs from entering Israel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two anti-Israel Swedish members of the European Parliament will be banned from entering Israel at the request of Foreign Minister <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/article-906072\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gideon Sa\u2019ar<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>At Sa\u2019ar\u2019s request, and in accordance with Israel\u2019s Entry Law, the Population and Immigration Authority will bar <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/diaspora\/antisemitism\/article-903219\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Swedish<\/a> Left Party MEPs Jonas Sj\u00f6stedt and Hanna Gedin from entering Israel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">The two were planning to visit the Palestinian Authority and were scheduled to arrive in Israel overnight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">According to the Foreign Ministry, the two have &#8220;consistently acted against Israel in recent years, including by calling for international legal proceedings to be advanced against Israelis.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">&#8220;On various public occasions, they have also made false accusations against Israel, including claims of genocide, deliberate starvation, and the intentional targeting of children and medical personnel,&#8221; the ministry said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">He has nevertheless explicitly recognized Israel&#8217;s right to exist and condemned the October 7 Hamas attack.
