The UK Government said the incident did not pose a risk to the wider energy system.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) is understood not to have received reports of outages from regulated power station operators.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A spokesperson for the DESNZ said: \u201cThis story refers to an incident impacting a small-scale energy generator, and at no point was there a risk to the wider energy system. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe UK has a highly resilient energy system. We work closely with the energy sector to protect infrastructure and ensure the highest security standards.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The incident comes amid growing concerns over state-backed cyber threats to the UK\u2019s critical infrastructure. NCSC Chief Executive, Richard Horne, has previously warned that countries including Russia, China and Iran are increasingly targeting systems supporting essential services.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Iran has faced repeated allegations of cyber-attacks against infrastructure overseas.
