In exchange, the state agreed to dismiss the habitual offender enhancement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Cram&#8217;s sentencing hearing is scheduled for Sept. 17, 2026, at 10 a.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The prosecutor&#8217;s office said Cram faces a sentencing of 45-65 years in the Indiana Department of Correction.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Lebanon Police Department officers were called to a home in the <a data-ylk=\"slk:500 block of South West Street;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;link&quot;,&quot;yLinkElementType&quot;:&quot;article_link&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/hggfhR9mve8L4wr4A\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">500 block of South West Street<\/a>, near Elm and East South streets, for a possible homicide around 6:45 p.m. Sept. 10, 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">When officers arrived on scene, they said they found Bowers, of Lebanon, dead with &#8220;obvious traumatic injuries.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Shortly after, officers received word of a possible suspect, later identified as Cram, that was nearby. He was eventually found and taken into custody.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;This guilty plea ensures that Jacob Andrew Cram is held accountable for the murder of Donald Lee Bowers while eliminating the uncertainty associated with a trial and potential future appeals,&#8221; Boone County Prosecuting Attorney Kent Eastwood said in a statement. &#8220;At the same time, the agreement preserves the State&#8217;s ability to seek the maximum sentence authorized by law.
