{"id":264313,"date":"2026-08-25T16:17:08","date_gmt":"2026-08-25T16:17:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/264313\/"},"modified":"2026-08-25T16:17:08","modified_gmt":"2026-08-25T16:17:08","slug":"2026-ny-film-festival-adds-naza-israel-gaza-documentary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/264313\/","title":{"rendered":"2026 NY Film Festival Adds NAZA Israel-Gaza Documentary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/new-york-film-festival\/\" id=\"auto-tag_new-york-film-festival_1\" data-tag=\"new-york-film-festival\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">New York Film Festival<\/a> has added the North American premiere of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/israel\/\" id=\"auto-tag_israel_1\" data-tag=\"israel\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Israel<\/a>-Gaza war <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/documentary\/\" id=\"auto-tag_documentary_1\" data-tag=\"documentary\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">documentary<\/a> NAZA to its main slate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe film, from Oscar-winning No Other Land directors Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor and produced by The Guardian and Oscar-winning Zone of Interest filmmakers James Wilson and Jonathan Glazer, was shot from the rooftops of Tel Aviv and documents Israel\u2019s bombing of Gaza. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/gnm-press-office\/2026\/aug\/24\/naza-a-new-film-directed-by-yuval-abraham-and-rachel-szor-produced-by-the-guardian\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">According to the filmmakers<\/a>, the movie, \u201creveals in detail the systems behind Israel\u2019s calculated mass killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cNAZA,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/gnm-press-office\/2026\/aug\/24\/naza-a-new-film-directed-by-yuval-abraham-and-rachel-szor-produced-by-the-guardian\" target=\"_blank\">the filmmakers add<\/a>, \u201cis a term that appears throughout the documentary. It is a military acronym euphemistically used by Israeli intelligence to indicate the number of civilians that it expects will be killed in an airstrike.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe movie, which is getting its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, builds on reporting from The Guardian, Israeli-Palestinian publication +972 magazine and Hebrew-language outlet Local Call.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cNAZA is an important investigative documentary about one of the gravest catastrophes of our time,\u201d NY Film Festival artistic director Dennis Lim. \u201cThe film brings critical information to light and, through its singular cinematic language, prompts broader questions of individual and societal complicity and accountability, especially in a time of intersecting global conflicts and endless wars.
