Britain on Tuesday backed US efforts to increase economic pressure on
\nIran while keeping diplomacy open, urging Tehran to halt its \u201cdestabilizing
\nactivities\u201d across the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n
At a press conference, British Treasury Minister John Healey welcomed
\nthe new round of sanctions against Iran, stressing that London remains
\ndetermined to \u201cprevent the Islamic Republic from using the global economy to
\nits advantage.\u201d<\/p>\n
