Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) \u2013 The President of Iraq\u2019s Supreme Judicial Council, Faiq Zaidan, paid a high-profile, one-day official visit to Tehran on Tuesday to boost cross-border legal cooperation, develop bilateral judicial agreements, and address important security concerns.<\/p>\n
Zaidan met with Iran\u2019s senior executive, legislative, judicial, and security leaders, including the Iranian president, minister of justice, judiciary chief, speaker of the parliament, and secretary of the Supreme National Security Council.<\/p>\n
The meetings focused on aligning judicial protocols and managing shared legal issues, strengthening legal relations, streamlining judicial procedures, activating cooperative security frameworks, reviewing legislative support for cross-border law enforcement, and addressing border stability and security measures.<\/p>\n
Zaidan strongly opposed the foreign economic pressure against Iran, citing the latest US sanctions imposed under \u201cOperation Economic Outcast.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Iraqi judicial chief indicated that Iraq will never forget Iran\u2019s support during the US war against the country in 2003 and the war against ISIS terrorist groups.<\/p>\n
Zaidan called for the full execution of existing bilateral legal and security agreements between Baghdad and Tehran.<\/p>\n
