SINGAPORE, Aug 27 (Reuters) – Shipping traffic at the Strait of Hormuz rose slightly even as a geopolitical \u200cstandoff persisted between the United States and Iran, \u200cwhile the market also monitored Iran-Oman talks about the waterway, data showed \u200bon Thursday.<\/p>\n
Visible commodity vessel transits at Hormuz totalled 10 on Wednesday, up slightly from eight on Tuesday, data from Kpler showed. This remained below a 10-day moving average of about \u200c15 vessels.<\/p>\n
Two medium-range fuel \u2060tankers, a liquefied petroleum gas carrier, a Panamax-sized tanker, and three handymax-sized tankers entered the \u2060strait from the Gulf of Oman.<\/p>\n
A medium-range fuel tanker, a bitumen tanker and a bulk carrier exited the waterway from \u200bthe Gulf.<\/p>\n
Iran \u200band Oman are still \u200bworking on the details of \u200can agreement on the Strait of Hormuz, a senior Iranian source said on Wednesday, after Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said the two countries had agreed how to share the waterway and its revenue.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, traffic slowed for a second day \u200cat the other key waterway of \u200bthe Bab el-Mandeb strait.<\/p>\n
A total of \u200b19 commodity vessels \u200bpassed through Bab el-Mandeb on Wednesday, with six \u200ctankers that exited, including a \u200bvery large crude \u200bcarrier, down from 24 on the previous day, the Kpler data showed.<\/p>\n
Some vessels may be sailing at \u200bthe key waterways \u200cwith their transponders turned off and may be missed \u200bin the counts.<\/p>\n
