SINGAPORE, Aug 28 (Reuters) – Seven commodity vessels transited the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday, down from 17 \u200ca day earlier and below the 10-day average \u200cof 15, preliminary shipping data showed on Friday.<\/p>\n
Among the seven vessels \u200bthat transited were two medium-range tankers, one very large gas carrier (VLGC), one Ultramax vessel, one intermediate tanker and two chemical tankers, initial data from shiptracker Kpler showed at 0315 GMT.<\/p>\n
Four \u200cof the vessels \u2060were exiting the strait, including the two chemical tankers, the medium range and intermediate tanker. \u2060The VLGC, Ultramax and the other medium range tanker were entering the strait.<\/p>\n
The figures could change as some ships \u200btypically switch \u200boff transponders during the voyage.<\/p>\n
Iran \u200bwar mediators have placed \u200crenewed emphasis on reopening the Strait of Hormuz, with Tehran agreeing to draw up a list of conditions to restore normal traffic after a Qatari emissary pressed the Iranians to respect freedom of navigation.<\/p>\n
Earlier on Wednesday, a senior \u200cIranian source said Iran and \u200bOman were still working on details \u200bof an agreement on \u200bthe waterway after Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said \u200cthe two countries had agreed \u200bon how to \u200bshare control of the strait and its revenues.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, 17 commodity vessels transited through the Bab el-Mandeb, another \u200bmajor maritime chokepoint \u200cin the Middle East, with six vessels entering \u200band 11 exiting.<\/p>\n
