Lebanon Valley Speedway will wrap its 2026 points season on Saturday night, and a familiar name is in position to pull off a modifieds sweep yet again.<\/p>\n
Andy Bachetti of Sheffield holds leads in both Big Block and 358 divisions at LVS heading into the final week of competition. Despite an eighth-place finish in Big Blocks at the last race two weeks ago, Bachetti maintained his points lead with 518. He’s got three wins in 11 races and current No. 2 Marc Johnson has amassed 495 points. Pittsfield’s Brett Haas is also within striking distance at 482 points<\/p>\n
Haas has 10 top-10 finishes, but has yet to win a Big Blocks race this summer. Johnson does have three wins, but Bachetti owns one additional top-five finish to separate the two.<\/p>\n
Bachetti last won a Big Block feature on Aug. 15, and on that date he doubled up with a win in 358s.\u00a0<\/p>\n

His points lead in 358s is a bit more hearty at 34, leading Haas 476-442. In 10 features, Bachetti has been dominant with seven wins and three more top-five spots. Haas has one win and seven top-fives. Sheffield’s Jeff Watson sits fifth with 383 points in the 358 standings.<\/p>\n
That area is a racing hotbed in the Berkshires, as Ashley Falls’ Jason Casey leads the Dirtcar Pro Stock division with 536 points. Casey had five wins in 11 features, putting him 38 points in front of Becket driver Tom Dean (498). Deal has placed in the top-10 of all 12 of his races and owns two wins. Frank Twing of Mill River is third with 474 points.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Chris Stalker, in fifth, is coming off a win in the Old Buzzard 30.<\/p>\n
Bachetti has won the Big Blocks division for six straight years. He last doubled up with Big Blocks and 358s season titles in 2024.<\/p>\n
Another Berkshire County driver holds a slim lead in the Limited Sportsman class. North Adams’ Braxton Martin has racked up 550 points over 11 races, including two wins and seven top-five slots. But the grasp on the division is tenuous heading into next weekend. Matt Humes has 547 points, Daniel Odell has 546 and Kyle Burl has 545. Pittsfield’s John Santolin is in the mix as well with 529 points.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Martin struggled his last time out, finishing 14th after winning his heat. Burl took the most recent win in the class.<\/p>\n
Similarly in the Street Stocks, Lee’s Gary O’Brien holds an eight-point lead with one race to go. O’Brien has 626 points, outpacing Jeff Meltz’s 618. O’Brien has four wins and nine top-fives over his 12 features.<\/p>\n
In 4-Cylinder racing, Stephen Burka of Climax, N.Y. holds the lead by 14 points over Poughkeepsie’s Prudence Peterson and Morgan Houghtaling.<\/p>\n
In Dirtcar Sportsman racing, Tim Hartman Jr. of Glenville, N.Y. is the leader at 575 points.
