{"id":277108,"date":"2026-09-03T19:32:12","date_gmt":"2026-09-03T19:32:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/277108\/"},"modified":"2026-09-03T19:32:12","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T19:32:12","slug":"vance-wont-call-iran-fight-a-war-says-china-will-help-economically-isolate-tehran","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/277108\/","title":{"rendered":"Vance won&#8217;t call Iran fight a &#8216;war&#8217;, says China will help economically isolate Tehran"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WASHINGTON \u2014 Vice President JD Vance said Thursday that he doesn\u2019t think of the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/08\/08\/us-news\/jd-vance-says-us-and-iran-are-in-the-middle-of-the-game-as-strait-talks-stall\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">US conflict with Iran as \u201ca war\u201d<\/a> due to the lack of full scale fighting \u2014 while saying that <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/08\/25\/world-news\/china-warns-us-of-retaliation-if-its-affected-by-iran-sanctions\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">China is \u201cwilling to play ball\u201d <\/a>with US efforts to <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/09\/01\/us-news\/bessent-vows-to-asphyxiate-iran-with-sanctions-taking-away-irgcs-offshore-accounts-luxury-homes\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">sever Tehran\u2019s economic ties<\/a> to achieve a peace deal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wouldn\u2019t call it a war. Right now, there is no active shooting,\u201d Vance said at a White House press briefing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI recognize there have been places where this has flared up. AFP via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Vance said that he was unsure when the conflict would end \u2014 as President Trump tries to negotiate its conclusion after initially projecting the more than six-month war would last about four weeks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s say I told you three months.
