DUBAI, Sept 3 (Reuters) – Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency reported on Thursday the deaths of six more military personnel from \u200cU.S. strikes this week, bringing the military death toll to \u200cat least 13.<\/p>\n
The U.S. strikes on Tuesday were the most extensive for weeks. In \u200bthe latest report on military deaths, Tasnim said six members of the regular military, including three pilots, had been killed in southern Iran. It gave no additional detail on the location.<\/p>\n
Tasnim had earlier reported that Tuesday’s \u200cstrikes had killed three members \u2060of the paramilitary Basij on Lavan Island in the Gulf, with their funeral taking place in southern Iran \u2060on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The strikes also killed four members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) Aerospace Force in western Iran, according to a statement by the \u200bguards published \u200bon Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Iranian military casualties in the \u200bconflict that began in late \u200cFebruary have been reported periodically, without official confirmation of overall tolls.<\/p>\n
The war, which began with U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran, has left thousands of people dead, the vast majority of them in Iran and Lebanon.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday, an Iranian health ministry official said on X that \u200cfrom August 30 to September 2, 18 \u200bpeople had been killed, including four people \u200battending a wedding, and \u200b142 had been wounded, drawing renewed attention to the \u200ccivilian death toll.<\/p>\n
Tasnim has also reported \u200bthat U.S. strikes \u200bon southern Iran on Sunday, which followed a month-long lull in clashes, had killed three people. Two were identified as members \u200bof the IRGC Navy \u200cby Iran’s Nournews outlet.<\/p>\n
The U.S. has reported 18 military personnel \u200bkilled and more than 750 wounded in the war.<\/p>\n
