Shafaq News- Beirut\/ Baghdad\/ Erbil<\/p>\n

Beirut hosted the Cedar Symposium 2 on Saturday, bringing
\ntogether around 35 artists from Lebanon and Iraq, including the Kurdistan
\nRegion, for an event promoting coexistence and peace through visual art.<\/p>\n

The symposium, which runs through September 8, includes
\nartists representing Baghdad, Karbala, the Kurdistan Region and Khanaqin, Fadia
\nAl-Nuaimi, head of the Fadia Foundation for Culture and Arts, told Shafaq News.<\/p>\n

Nihad Al-Khayat, an official at Khanaqin\u2019s Martyr Salam
\nCultural House, told Shafaq News that the district\u2019s delegation participated in
\ntraditional Kurdish clothing and carried the flags of the Kurdistan Region and
\nIraq.<\/p>\n

The delegation sought to convey Khanaqin\u2019s tradition of
\npeaceful coexistence and a message to participants from Lebanon, Baghdad and
\nKarbala. \u201cWe want to live together, respect one another and value life and
\nhumanity,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Khanaqin is also preparing to host further artistic,
\ncultural and social events in the coming days, Al-Khayat revealed, adding that
\nthe cultural house\u2019s participation in Beirut reflected its commitment to peace
\nand love.<\/p>\n
