In an English-language post on the X platform, Baghaei referred to a Jerusalem Post report discussing a proposal to use student loans and credit card debt as a tool to recruit financially burdened young Americans, who would then be sent to the front lines.

The Iranian official considered this proposal a blatant exploitation of American lives and taxpayers’ money in “other people’s wars.” He also warned against allowing American sons to be turned into “foot soldiers or mercenaries” in illegal conflicts whose costs far outweigh the national interest of the United States. The Iranian diplomat’s comments came in response to an opinion piece published in The Jerusalem Post by retired Canadian officer and security analyst A.J. Jaffe, in which he hypothetically discussed the dilemma of insufficient American forces in the event of a large-scale ground campaign against Iran.

The author proposed a voluntary debt cancellation program in exchange for military service for a period of 24 to 36 months. This proposal targets the 18-34 age group burdened by student loans and credit cards. The article stated that air power alone is insufficient to resolve a large-scale conflict. It also estimated the need for hundreds of thousands of troops amidst a US recruitment crisis. Although the proposal represents a purely analytical viewpoint and does not reflect an existing government program, it sparked widespread ethical criticism. It also raised societal concerns about young people being forced to choose between facing economic hardship and participating in bloody foreign wars.

Tehran, Iran – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei urged American citizens to seriously question the motives behind…

[4
671,34,37,69,153,12698,12699
post-279069","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-tehran","tag-america","tag-iran","tag-israel","tag-tehran","tag-us","tag-voice-of-emirates","tag-voice-of-emirates-website-news
["GET
