Quoting from the Board\u2019s\u00a0current three-year\u00a0plan, running from 2024 to 2027, he said:\u00a0\u201cWe aspire to \u2018make the Board a place where British Jews can come together, regardless of politics or religious affiliation. Our only principled boundaries will be with those who express hatred towards other groups, oppose the continued existence of Israel.\u201d<\/p>\n

In July, 1,000 Jews signed a letter\u00a0organised by Yachad to the then Middle East Minister Hamish Falconer that supported the \u201cUK government’s intention to strengthen its response to settlements\u201d.<\/p>\n

Last month, the organisation issued a statement in support of Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband\u2019s announcement<\/a> that the government was considering targeted sanctions in reaction to planned settlement expansion.<\/p>\n

Yachad said: \u201cAs such, it\u2019s right and necessary that the UK government, alongside international allies, change their approach accordingly and move from words to actions.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Board of Deputies\u00a0has urged\u00a0the UK government not to take\u00a0 \u201cirreversible steps\u201d that could damage UK-Israel relations<\/a> and have a harmful impact on the Jewish community here.<\/p>\n
