The Iran war has cost Americans $100 billion in higher energy prices, according to a real-time estimate from Brown University.<\/p>\n

The war adds an additional $1 million every two minutes, according to Brown’s Watson School. The\u00a0Iran War Energy Cost Tracker<\/a> comes amid rising diesel prices and drivers continuing to pay more than $4 at the pump.<\/p>\n

On Friday, diesel prices hit an all-time high and are now at $5.90 a gallon, a 60% increase from last year, according to the AAA motor club.<\/p>\n

Overall, the higher gasoline and diesel prices have cost the average American household more than $760 since the U.S. launched the war in February. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Texans are seeing the biggest increase, paying $11 billion in extra diesel and gas costs since the war began, with California and Florida paying $8 billion and $5 billion, respectively.<\/p>\n

Energy Secretary Chris Wright said Sunday that a U.S.-Iran nuclear agreement may not happen,\u00a0telling<\/a>\u00a0ABC’s “This Week” that a deal could “await a next administration” as both sides traded fresh strikes at sea.<\/p>\n

Wright\u00a0said\u00a0the outcome could instead be “simply destroying their capabilities to do it.”<\/p>\n

His remarks lowered expectations for a diplomatic settlement that President Donald Trump earlier described as a central goal of the Iran war.<\/p>\n

Wright argued the U.S. bombing campaign has crippled Tehran’s ability to build a weapon, saying American forces are “degrading their capacity to develop nuclear weapons and ultimately to deliver them.”<\/p>\n

He called the standoff a “47-year-long effort” that the country would see through “in cooperation with our allies in the region.”<\/p>\n

War\u00a0Secretary Pete Hegseth has estimated the war has cost $37.5 billion, according to The Associated Press.<\/p>\n
