Brent crude climbed 1.5% to $97.73 a barrel, briefly nearing $98, while West Texas Intermediate rose 1.8% to $93.10\u2014both peaks not seen since late July, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/09\/07\/oil-prices-rise-to-6-week-high-after-iran-and-us-trade-blows-saudi-aramco-facilities-reportedly-hit.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CNBC<\/a> reports.The moves follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newser.com\/story\/395970\/us-strikes-3-iranian-tankers-in-reported-retaliation.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">US strikes<\/a> on three Iranian oil tankers after Iran fired ballistic missiles at two Navy warships, according to US Central Command, which called the vessels part of a &#8220;multibillion-dollar shadow network&#8221; funding Iran&#8217;s Revolutionary Guard.&#13;\n                                    <\/p>\n<p class=\"storyParagraph\">&#13;<br \/>\n                                        Iran condemned the attacks on its commercial ships as a &#8220;war crime&#8221; and &#8220;economic warfare,&#8221; with its parliament speaker warning, &#8220;Strike our assets and you get struck.&#8221; A reported attack on a Saudi Aramco facility added to jitters. Sources told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/9ffb0fb3-51f6-4aa8-9270-a949196bf441?syn-25a6b1a6=1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Financial Times<\/a> that a Red Sea refining hub was hit Monday in a suspected Houthi rebel attack. Gas prices in the US, meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newser.com\/story\/395956\/mondays-gas-prices-set-to-be-highest-ever-on-labor-day.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">hit a Labor Day record<\/a>.
