Iraq’s oil exports have climbed back above three million barrels per day
\nthis month after falling sharply earlier in the year, Oil Minister Bassem
\nMohammed Khudair said on Tuesday, as Baghdad shifts its focus toward expanding
\nrefining capacity and securing new foreign partnerships.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the opening of the 4th International Gas and Oil Exhibition
\nin Baghdad, Khudair said the sector was passing through a decisive phase shaped
\nby \u201cexceptional regional and international conditions,\u201d which \u201chad created
\ndifficulties but also development opportunities.\u201d<\/p>\n
A Rebound from Crisis Lows<\/p>\n
Khudair said exports had risen from about 200,000 barrels per day when
\nthe government took office to more than three million barrels per day in
\nSeptember, a recovery he credited to the ministry, its state companies, and
\ninternational operators. <\/p>\n

\nadditional access to international markets.<\/p>\n
