{"id":29300,"date":"2026-03-21T06:29:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-21T06:29:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/29300\/"},"modified":"2026-03-21T06:29:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-21T06:29:08","slug":"us-government-sues-harvard-over-anti-israel-protests-cites-hostile-environment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/29300\/","title":{"rendered":"US government sues Harvard over anti-Israel protests, cites \u2018hostile environment\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Trump administration filed a lawsuit on Friday against <a target=\"_self\" class=\"e1yy41x40 ef9u0v01 css-1ankfgb ecgc78b0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/topics\/harvard-university-us?module=inline&amp;pgtype=article\" title=\"\" data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Harvard University<\/a>, accusing the institution of allowing a \u201chostile environment\u201d towards Jewish and Israeli students during pro-Palestinian demonstrations on campus from 2023 to 2025.President <a target=\"_self\" class=\"e1yy41x40 ef9u0v01 css-1ankfgb ecgc78b0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/topics\/donald-trump?module=inline&amp;pgtype=article\" title=\"\" data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Donald Trump<\/a> has launched an offensive against major American universities, accusing them of giving free rein on their campuses to pro-Palestinian movements in the face of the <a target=\"_self\" class=\"e1yy41x40 ef9u0v01 css-1ankfgb ecgc78b0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/topics\/israel-gaza-war?module=inline&amp;pgtype=article\" title=\"\" data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Israeli offensive<\/a> in the Gaza Strip, action which he equates with antisemitism.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">In February, the Department of Justice filed a similar lawsuit against the University of California, Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">In its new complaint, the DOJ said Harvard \u201cfaculty and leadership turned a blind eye to antisemitism and discrimination against Jews and Israelis,\u201d accusing the university of failing to enforce its own rules against pro-Palestinian and anti-Israeli protesters.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">\u201cHarvard let anti-Israeli demonstrators occupy its libraries.
