The approval was announced in a joint statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa\u2019ar, and Construction and Housing Minister Haim Katz.<\/p>\n

Israel approved a proposal to allocate land at the Allenby Complex in Jerusalem for the construction of a permanent United States Embassy<\/a> on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The approval was announced in a joint statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu<\/a>, Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa\u2019ar, and Construction and Housing Minister Haim Katz.<\/p>\n

Netanyahu, Sa\u2019ar, and Katz described the building of the embassy as a \u201cmajor diplomatic move\u201d originally set in motion by US President Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s \u201ccourageous and historic decision during his first term to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and relocate the US Embassy there.\u201d<\/p>\n

The establishment of the permanent embassy will serve as a \u201ctangible, central, and long-term expression of the US\u2019 commitment to Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and the resilience of the special relationship between the two countries,\u201d the announcement statement continued.<\/p>\n

Netanyahu, Sa\u2019ar, and Katz additionally thanked US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee<\/a> for his cooperation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for working to finalize the decision.<\/p>\n

Sara Netanyahu attends US First Lady event<\/p>\n

In a further show of US-Israeli solidarity, Netanyahu\u2019s wife, Sara Netanyahu, attended an event for the spouses of world leaders organized by US First Lady Melania Trump.<\/p>\n

The Fostering the Future Together Global Coalition summit, according to the Office of the First Lady, aims to \u201chelp children learn, grow, and thrive through the safe and innovative use of advanced technology\u201d across the globe.<\/p>\n

In remarks given during the event, Netanyahu expressed her appreciation for Trump\u2019s leadership, vision, and for her decision to focus on \u201cthe future of children around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Netanyahu described online violence and shaming faced by her own children and called for \u201cprotection, guidance, and responsible adults who will ensure that the online space is positive, ethical, and educational.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI see this gathering as a bond of responsibility, between nations, between women leaders, and between mothers, who understand that the best way to build a stronger future is to invest in our children today,\u201d Netanyahu stated.<\/p>\n
