Millions of people in Lebanon and Iran have been displaced.<\/p>\n<p>Australia restricts some Iranians from traveling to the country<\/p>\n<p>Australia has temporarily restricted some Iranians from traveling to the country for fear that they would be unwilling or unable to return to their homeland because of the war.<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>The restrictions apply from Thursday for six months to Iranian Visitor (Subclass 600) visa holders.<\/p>\n<p>These visas have been issued to more than 7,000 Iranians who intend to visit Australia for tourism, business or to see family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you get a sudden conflict like has happened with Iran, who have a large number of people who\u2019ve been issued visas who, if they applied now, would in fact not be eligible,\u201d Immigration Minister Tony Burke told Parliament on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities will use the six months to reassess visa applicants. An unknown number will be exempt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>Heavy strikes reported around Isfahan<\/p>\n<p>Activists in Iran reported heavy strikes early Thursday morning around Isfahan, a city some 330 kilometers (205 miles) south of Iran\u2019s capital, Tehran.<\/p>\n<p>The pro-reform newspaper Ham Mihan reported online about strikes in the area.<\/p>\n<p>Isfahan is home to a major Iranian air base and other military sites, as well as one of the nuclear sites bombed by the United States during the 12-day war between Israel and Iran in June.<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>The semiofficial Fars news agency, close to the paramilitary Revolutionary Guard, described the attacks as targeting \u201ctwo residential areas,\u201d without elaborating.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Israel\u2019s military said it had completed \u201ca wide-scale wave of strikes\u201d across Iran, including in Isfahan.<\/p>\n<p>Latest reports of live fire<\/p>\n<p>A missile alert sounded on mobile phones in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>Saudi Arabia\u2019s Defense Ministry said it intercepted multiple drones over its oil-rich Eastern Province on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Kuwait reported it was working to intercept incoming Iranian fire early Thursday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Bahrain sounded its missile alert sirens early Thursday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The United Arab Emirates air defenses early Thursday also worked to intercept incoming fire.<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>US hits over 10,000 targets in Iran war, including two-thirds of Iranian munition plants<\/p>\n<p>U.S. forces have hit more than 10,000 targets so far in the Iran war, the head of the American military\u2019s Central Command said.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Navy Adm. Brad Cooper made the comments in a video released early Thursday by Central Command.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you combine what we\u2019ve accomplished with the success of our Israeli ally, together, we have struck thousands more,\u201d Cooper said. \u201cOur precision strikes have overwhelmed Iranian air defenses and our combat flights are having tangible effects.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>Cooper added that the U.S. has destroyed 92% of \u201cthe Iranian navy\u2019s largest vessels.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019ve now lost the ability to meaningly project naval power and influence around the region and around the world,\u201d Cooper said.<\/p>\n<p>Iran maintains its chokehold on the Strait of Hormuz, the narrow mouth of the Persian Gulf, through drone and missile attacks on shipping, however.<\/p>\n<p>Cooper also said the U.S. has struck over two-thirds of Iran\u2019s munitions plants.<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, we have damaged or destroyed over two-thirds of Iran\u2019s missile, drone and naval production facilities and shipyards \u2014 and we\u2019re not done yet,\u201d he said. \u201cWe are on a path to completely eliminate Iran\u2019s wider military manufacturing apparatus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Satellite photos analyzed by The Associated Press, though delayed by two weeks by Planet Labs PBC, have shown Israeli and U.S. strikes targeting shipyards and missile facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Iran has not acknowledged any of its materiel losses through the war.<\/p>\n<p>German Defense Minister says Iran war is a \u2018catastrophe\u2019 for world economies<\/p>\n<p>German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius described the Iran war as an economic \u201ccatastrophe\u201d and said Germany did not want to get \u201csucked into\u201d the conflict.<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>Pistorius said on Thursday Germany was ready to help secure any peace once that was achieved and appealed for a ceasefire as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo make it crystal clear, this war is a catastrophe for the world\u2019s economies,\u201d Pistorius told reporters at the Australian Parliament House.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom the beginning on, we have not been consulted before. Nobody asked us before.
