data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Nato<\/a>.\u201cThere are those who advocate for the liberation of the Strait of Hormuz by force through a military operation, a position sometimes expressed by the United States,\u201d Macron said during a visit to <a target=\"_self\" class=\"e1yy41x40 ef9u0v01 css-1ankfgb ecgc78b0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/topics\/south-korea?module=inline&amp;pgtype=article\" title=\"\" data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">South Korea<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">\u201cI say sometimes because it has varied, it is never the option we have chosen and we consider it unrealistic,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Macron said such an operation would take excessive time and expose those crossing the strait to \u201ccoastal threats\u201d, particularly from Iran\u2019s Revolutionary Guards \u201cwho possess significant resources as well as ballistic missiles\u201d.<\/p>\n<p
