Iraq is outside the ongoing regional conflict and does not
\nwish to become involved despite being among the countries most affected by its
\nsecurity, economic, and political repercussions, the country\u2019s Foreign Ministry
\nsaid on Thursday, following a warning by the US Embassy over potential security
\nconcerns.<\/p>\n
In a press statement, the ministry noted that \u201ccertain
\nparties or individuals may attempt, contrary to the state\u2019s direction, to take
\nunilateral actions or exploit their positions or official capacities to carry
\nout activities that do not represent official policy,\u201d labeling these acts as
\nunlawful.<\/p>\n
\u201cFurthermore, incidents of abuse of authority by individuals
\nin various countries around the world do not justify generalizations or the
\nattribution of responsibility to governments or institutions for individual
\nactions,\u201d the ministry said.<\/p>\n
The government confirmed it is intensifying efforts<\/a> to
\nenhance security measures, protect diplomatic missions and foreign interests,
\nand safeguard citizens, while continuing to ensure Iraqi territory is not used
\nas a launchpad for hostile activities.<\/p>\n
