A STRIKE on a bridge by the U.S. near Tehran has intensified the conflict with Iran, leaving at least eight dead and dozens injured, as President Donald Trump warned that further attacks were imminent.<\/p>\n
Reuters reported on Friday that the attack on the B1 bridge linking Tehran and Karaj on April 2 killed eight people and wounded 95, according to Iran\u2019s semi-official Fars news agency.<\/p>\n
Iran\u2019s state broadcaster reported that two strikes hit the bridge about an hour apart, with the second occurring as emergency responders were attending to the wounded.<\/p>\n
Trump publicly celebrated the strike, posting a video of the explosion and declaring there was \u201cmuch more to follow\u201d.<\/p>\n
He also urged Tehran to \u201cMAKE A DEAL BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE, AND THERE IS NOTHING LEFT OF WHAT STILL COULD BECOME A GREAT COUNTRY!\u201d<\/p>\n
A US military official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the bridge had been targeted as a military supply route for Iran\u2019s missile and drone operations.<\/p>\n
However, Iran\u2019s Mehr news agency rejected the claim, stating, \u201cBridge B1 has not yet been inaugurated,\u201d raising questions over its military relevance.<\/p>\n
It remains unclear whether the bridge was open to the public at the time of the strike, or whether the casualties were on the structure or nearby. The attack coincided with the final day of Nowruz, when many Iranians traditionally spend time outdoors.<\/p>\n
The Israeli military confirmed it was not responsible for the strike, identifying it as a US operation. Washington has not formally commented.<\/p>\n
Legal experts said the legitimacy of the attack would depend on whether the bridge constituted a military objective.<\/p>\n
