The agreement halts hostilities, integrates<br \/>\nSDF units into the Syrian army, transfers security in Hasakah and Qamishli to<br \/>\nstate authorities, incorporates Autonomous Administration institutions into the<br \/>\ngovernment, affirms Kurdish civil rights, and enables the return of displaced<br \/>\nresidents.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/shafaq.com\/en\/Report\/Syria-s-calm-An-end-to-threat-or-a-start-of-a-complex-security-phase-for-Iraq\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Read more: Syria\u2019s calm: An end to threat or start of a complex security phase?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>About Women\u2019s Protection Units<\/p>\n<p>Though no<br \/>\nofficial figures have been disclosed, media reports have suggested that around<br \/>\n30% of fighters within the People\u2019s Protection Units are women serving in the<br \/>\nWomen\u2019s Protection Units, an all-female force founded in 2013 with the stated<br \/>\naim of challenging traditional gender roles, under the slogan \u201cJin, Jiyan, Azadi\u201d (\u201cWomen, Life,<br \/>\nFreedom\u201d). However, the Syrian Democratic Forces has classified its current<br \/>\nfigures, with some estimates placing total SDF strength at around 50,000<br \/>\nfighters and suggesting women may account for closer to 20% of that number. <\/p>\n<p>Damascus has<br \/>\npreviously ruled out integrating the YPJ as a unified formation into the Syrian<br \/>\nArab Army due to the absence of female combat units in its structure, instead<br \/>\nindicating that members could join the Interior Ministry individually,<br \/>\nparticularly in internal security roles.
