(WIBW) &#8211; Gas prices continue to skyrocket this week following the United States-Israel war with Iran.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Prices on Thursday reached their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wibw.com\/2026\/03\/05\/gas-prices-highest-level-11-months\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wibw.com\/2026\/03\/05\/gas-prices-highest-level-11-months\/\">highest point in the past 11 months<\/a>, according to published reports.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The American Automobile Association of America says the average price for a gallon of unleaded gas was $3.25 a gallon on Thursday morning. That\u2019s up 27 cents from $2.98 a week ago and up 36 cents from $2.89 a month ago. It\u2019s also 15 cents more than $3.10 a year ago.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">In Kansas, AAA says, the average price for a gallon of unleaded fuel was $2.83 a gallon on Thursday, up 29 cents from $2.54 a week ago, up 36 cents from $2.47 a month ago and up two cents from $2.81 a year ago.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Gas prices continue to skyrocket this week following the United States-Israel war with Iran.\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Z52YHKBSUVHH5MA6DJYNCBVRSY.jpg\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" \/>Gas prices continue to skyrocket this week following the United States-Israel war with Iran.(AP Graphics Bank)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Diesel fuel prices also were on the upswing nationally and in Kansas, AAA reports.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The national average for diesel fuel on Thursday morning was $4.16 a gallon, AAA says. That\u2019s up 41 cents over $3.75 a week ago, up 53 cents over $3.63 a month ago and up 51 cents from $3.65 a year ago.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The average price for a gallon of unleaded fuel in Kansas on Thursday morning, AAA says, was $3.68 a gallon. That\u2019s up 30 cents from $338 a week ago, up 41 cents from $3.27 a month ago and up 39 cents from $3.29 a year ago.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/Gasbuddy.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/Gasbuddy.com\" target=\"_blank\">Gasbuddy.com<\/a> on Thursday reported unleaded gas in Topeka ranging in price from $2.59 to $2.89 a gallon, while diesel fuel ranged in price from $3.25 to $4.08 a gallon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 WIBW.
