The Iranian capital has been shaken by rocket attacks for the sixth consecutive day, with the government-affiliated Iranian news agency ISNA reporting several explosions in the east of Tehran on Thursday.<\/p>\n
The online portal Etemad also reported rocket strikes.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Israeli armed forces announced an attack in an industrial area about 20 kilometres south-east of the capital. In a Farsi-language post on X, they urged citizens to leave the area.<\/p>\n
For other bombarded areas in Tehran, including residential districts, the armed forces did not issue any warnings.<\/p>\n
In any case, the news is unlikely to reach many people as Iran’s power apparatus has largely cut off the population from the internet since the war began on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Iran said it has fired more than 500 ballistic missiles and cruise missiles since the start of the war.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, at least 2,000 combat drones of various types have been launched from Iranian soil, the Fars news agency reported on Thursday, citing an “informed military source.”<\/p>\n
The agency is close to the powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Iran’s elite military force.<\/p>\n
According to the report, about 40% of the attacks were directed against targets in Israel. The remaining approximately 60% of the Iranian attacks were aimed at “US targets.”<\/p>\n
In addition to Israel, Iran’s forces are also attacking positions in the Gulf states, including Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq and Saudi Arabia, where the US maintains bases.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, Iranian media also reported the use of one of the missiles with the greatest destructive power in their arsenal.
