{"id":55933,"date":"2026-04-07T15:17:30","date_gmt":"2026-04-07T15:17:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/55933\/"},"modified":"2026-04-07T15:17:30","modified_gmt":"2026-04-07T15:17:30","slug":"u-s-israel-strike-irans-oil-export-hubs-ahead-of-trump-deadline","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/55933\/","title":{"rendered":"U.S., Israel Strike Iran\u2019s Oil Export Hubs Ahead of Trump Deadline"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>US and Israeli air strikes hit multiple locations across Iran, including infrastructure and the strategic Kharg Island, as an evening deadline from Washington for Tehran to agree to a deal to end the war approached with neither side signaling the intention to back down.<\/p>\n<p>Iranian media reported explosions across Tehran and the sound of air defense fire on April 7, with some accounts describing fighter jets flying at low altitude over the capital.<\/p>\n<p>Strikes were also <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/mehrnews\/368965\" rel=\"nofollow\">reported<\/a> on Iran\u2019s Kharg Island, where some 90 percent of Iran\u2019s oil exports are shipped from, as well as major bridges on the Tabriz-Zanjan highway and another near the holy city of Qom.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Roughnecks-Riches-Start-Up-American-Fracking\/dp\/B0FCDBHGSW\" class=\"charts_banner_clicked charts_banner_add_view\" data-banner_id=\"38\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"not_lightbox\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/book.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The reports could not be independently verified.<\/p>\n<p>In a stark escalation of rhetoric, the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) warned in a statement just moments after the strikes were reported that it would target US and allied infrastructure across the region if the United States crossed \u201cred lines.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The IRGC also put American partners in the Persian Gulf and beyond on notice, saying that restraint shown toward neighboring states \u201cout of good neighborliness\u201d was now over and that \u201call such considerations have been lifted\u201d \u2014 a signal that Gulf Arab states hosting US military assets could become direct targets.<\/p>\n<p>The statement marks a shift in Iran\u2019s stated position. While Tehran has previously struck targets in several regional countries, it had until now maintained that those states themselves were not the intended enemy \u2014 a distinction it appears to be threatening to abandon.<\/p>\n<p>Among the sites hit in downtown Tehran was a historic synagogue, according to Iranian media.<\/p>\n<p>Homayoun Sameyah, the Jewish community\u2019s representative in Iran\u2019s parliament, told state media that the building was \u201cancient\u201d and \u201csacred,\u201d and that Torah scrolls remained buried under the rubble.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oilprice.com\/Energy\/Energy-General\/Six-Stocks-That-Could-Soar-in-an-Era-of-Regional-Instability.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Related: Six Stocks That Could Soar in an Era of Regional Instability<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Iran struck Tel Aviv, with Israeli television reporting around 10 impact sites across the city causing damage to buildings and vehicles. No injuries were recorded.<\/p>\n<p>The Israeli military accused Iran of using cluster munitions \u2014 weapons that disperse into smaller submunitions, or bomblets, in midair and are nearly impossible to intercept with conventional air defenses. The southern port city of Eilat was also targeted with cluster munitions, according to media reports.<\/p>\n<p>US President Donald Trump announced the deadline of 8 p.m. EST on April 7, warning the \u201cthe entire country\u201d of Iran \u201ccould be taken out in one night.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump explicitly threatened Iran\u2019s power plants and bridges if no deal was reached.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s warning at the April 6 White House press conference centers on Iran\u2019s control of the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, a chokepoint for global oil shipments.<\/p>\n<p>Iran\u2019s response fell short of what Washington demanded.<\/p>\n<p>Tehran submitted a 10-point peace proposal through Pakistani mediators, but the plan rejected a temporary cease-fire and instead called for a permanent end to hostilities. It also included conditions unlikely to be acceptable to the United States or Israel. The New York Times reported the proposal was unlikely to resolve the core issues before the deadline.<\/p>\n<p>Iran\u2019s defiance was on open display.<\/p>\n<p>Mahdi Mohammadi, a senior adviser to Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, posted on X that Iran had \u201cclearly and openly won the war\u201d and would only accept an outcome that established \u201ca new security order in the region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cIt is Trump who has around 20 hours to surrender to Iran or his allies will be sent back to the Stone Age.
