{"id":6066,"date":"2026-03-06T05:05:06","date_gmt":"2026-03-06T05:05:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/6066\/"},"modified":"2026-03-06T05:05:06","modified_gmt":"2026-03-06T05:05:06","slug":"syria-opens-mediterranean-aleppo-air-corridor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/6066\/","title":{"rendered":"Syria opens Mediterranean-Aleppo air corridor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/tags\/syria\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Syria<\/a> has opened a newly reactivated air corridor from the northern city of Aleppo toward the Mediterranean Sea for use by foreign airlines as well as its national carrier, the head of the country\u2019s Civil Aviation Authority told Reuters on Thursday, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/defense-news\/article-888906\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">air traffic<\/a> gradually resumes through Aleppo International Airport.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Civil Aviation Authority director Omar Hosari said the route is intended to provide a safe flight path for aircraft arriving at and departing from Aleppo and will be available to any airline that \u201cmeets international safety standards.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">\u201cThe corridors are not dedicated exclusively to Syrian Air,\u201d said Hosari. \u201cOther airlines can use them to transit or operate through Syrian airspace according to the usual regulatory procedures.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a Thursday statement, the authority said it had also reopened air routes in the northern part of Syrian airspace toward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/podcast\/jpost-headlines\/article-888825\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Turkey<\/a> after conducting operational and technical assessments and reviewing regional developments affecting aviation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">The authority said the first Syrian Air flight departed Aleppo for Istanbul on Thursday and arrived safely, marking the gradual resumption of operations at Aleppo International Airport.
