{"id":61706,"date":"2026-04-11T01:59:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-11T01:59:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/61706\/"},"modified":"2026-04-11T01:59:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-11T01:59:08","slug":"gulf-of-suez-oil-output-on-the-rise-as-new-well-joins-in-on-the-action","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/61706\/","title":{"rendered":"Gulf of Suez oil output on the rise as new well joins in on the action"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company (GUPCO) has started oil production from another well at an offshore field in the Gulf of Suez, further augmenting its oil arsenal off the coast of Egypt.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"929\" height=\"616\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Egas-illustration.jpg\" alt=\"An offshore platform\" class=\"wp-image-759180\"  \/>Illustration; Source: Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS)<\/p>\n<p>Egypt\u2019s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has confirmed the completion of drilling activities at the South Wasl BB\u00a0exploration well carried out by GUPCO in the South Wasl area\u00a0of the Gulf of Suez, in partnership between the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and its investment partner, Dragon Oil.<\/p>\n<p>The well testing results indicated production rates of approximately 2,500 barrels per day (bbl\/d) and 3 million standard cubic feet per day (scfd). The well has been immediately connected to the existing production facilities, contributing to an increase in the company\u2019s overall production capacity.<\/p>\n<p>According to GUPCO, the well has raised its total oil production to around 67,000 bbl\/d, marking the highest level achieved in a considerable period.
