Kataib Hezbollah, an Iran-aligned Iraqi armed faction,
\non Saturday warned that a durable settlement in the Middle East remains
\nunlikely, stressing that the Axis of Resistance* remains prepared for renewed
\nconflict.<\/p>\n
In a statement, Secretary-General Abu Hussein
\nal-Hamidawi described the recent 40-day war as a \u201cmajor historic victory,\u201d
\narguing it compelled Israel and the United States to accept a new equation,
\nreferring to the two-week ceasefire and planned negotiations with Iran in
\nIslamabad.<\/p>\n
The confrontation, al-Hamidawi said, clarified
\nopposing camps, cautioning that while active fighting has subsided, underlying
\ntensions persist and could escalate again. He also pointed to the concept of
\n\u201cunity of arenas\u201d as an established reality spanning multiple countries and
\ngroups, calling for further strengthening of military capabilities.<\/p>\n
A two-week ceasefire between the United States and
\nIran was announced on Wednesday after mediation by Pakistan, contingent on
\nreopening the Strait of Hormuz. Since the escalation began on Feb. 28 and
\nexpanded on March 2, factions within the Iran-aligned Islamic Resistance in
\nIraq, including Kataib Hezbollah, have claimed nearly 450 attacks targeting US
\nmilitary facilities across Iraq and the wider region.<\/p>\n
Despite this, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced<\/a>
\na two-week suspension of operations in line with the temporary ceasefire
\nbetween Washington and Tehran.<\/p>\n
