Less than a month later, the building was severely damaged by a <a href=\"https:\/\/lebtown.com\/2022\/07\/03\/overnight-fire-damages-lebanon-catholic-building-vandalism-suspected-cause\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">spectacular arson fire<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"537\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-290398 perfmatters-lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Lebanon-Catholic-Fire-1024x537.jpg\"  data-\/>Closed Lebanon Catholic School is damaged by arson fire on July 3, 2022. (Lebanon Fire Department)<\/p>\n<p>Several juveniles were charged with setting the blaze, leading Lebanon\u2019s fire chief and many of the school\u2019s alumni and friends to blame the diocese for not properly securing the building against vandals.<\/p>\n<p>In 2025, <a href=\"https:\/\/lebtown.com\/2025\/05\/20\/lebanon-school-board-oks-5-25-million-purchase-of-lebanon-catholic-property\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Lebanon School District bought the school<\/a> and the 14 acres it sits on from a developer for $5.25 million. The purchase included the adjacent <a href=\"https:\/\/lebtown.com\/2025\/10\/21\/lebanon-sd-bids-lebanon-catholic-demolition-will-tear-down-mansion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Donaghmore Mansion<\/a>, which had been used by the school as a convent for nuns.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" data-wp-class--hide=\"state.isContentHidden\" data-wp-class--show=\"state.isContentVisible\" data-wp-init=\"callbacks.setButtonStyles\" data-wp-on--click=\"actions.showLightbox\" data-wp-on--load=\"callbacks.setButtonStyles\" data-wp-on-window--resize=\"callbacks.setButtonStyles\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-290404 perfmatters-lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Donaghmore-Mansion-1024x576.jpg\"  data-\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\tThe Donaghmore Mansion, part of the 14-acre Lebanon Catholic property, is also slated for demolition, according to the Lebanon School District. (LebTown)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lebtown.com\/2021\/09\/08\/after-year-absence-catholic-education-returns-to-lebanon-county-this-fall\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Catholic education returned<\/a> to Lebanon County a year after Lebanon Catholic closed when Our Lady of the Cross, a pre-K through 12th grade school, opened in September 2021.
