Neary for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.<\/p>\n<p>State police in Lebanon County were dispatched for a report of a man slumped over the wheel of a car, according to United States Attorney Brian D. Miller. When police arrived, they found Beaumont asleep in the driver\u2019s seat of a black Nissan. Police saw loose heroin on the passenger seat and took him into custody.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;During a search of the vehicle, police found a loaded SCCY CPX-2 9mm pistol under the driver\u2019s seat,&#8221; officials said in a release. &#8220;They also found heroin, methamphetamine, and assorted drug paraphernalia.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Beaumont had previously pleaded guilty to possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and related charges in 2020. Officials said he was ineligible to possess a firearm.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant United States Attorney Michael Scalera prosecuted the case, which was part of the Operation Take Back America initiative.<\/p>\n<p>Matthew Toth is a reporter for the Lebanon Daily News.
