Accuweather forecast has warmer weather in store from Northeast<\/p>\n

It’s finally going to start feeling like spring in the Northeast and, for some, maybe even summer. Bernie Rayno breaks down the forecast.<\/p>\n

Summer-like weather is in the forecast for southcentral Pennsylvania this week, and temperatures could break record highs in York County, according to AccuWeather.com.<\/p>\n

Meteorologists predict some areas of the mid-Atlantic could experience the first heatwave of the year as a surge of warm air moves into the region.<\/p>\n

In York County, daytime temperatures are expected to rise into the mid-80s on Monday, April 13 and continue through Wednesday, April 15. The forecast calls for a high of 88 degrees on Wednesday, which would break a record of 85 degrees set in 1994, according to AccuWeather.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, April 16, the forecast calls for a high of 93 degrees, which would break the record of 84 degrees set in 1976, according to AccuWeather.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The temperature is predicted to drop back into the mid-80s on Friday, April 17 before rising to a high of 91 on Saturday, April 18, which would be near the record of 93 degrees set in 1976.<\/p>\n

Record temperatures are not predicted in Adams or Lebanon counties, according to AccuWeather.com.<\/p>\n

In Adams County, the forecast calls for highs in the 80s, starting on Monday, April 13 and continuing through Saturday, April 18 with one exception \u2014 a high of 91 degrees on Thursday, April 16.<\/p>\n

In Lebanon County, it is expected to be warm with highs in the 80s on Tuesday, April 14 through Saturday, April 18. The high on Monday, April 13 is predicted to be 79 degrees.<\/p>\n

Take caution with risk of wildfires spreading<\/p>\n

The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for southcentral Pennsylvania, including Adams, Lebanon and York counties, about the risk of wildfires spreading on Monday, April 13.<\/p>\n

The low humidity and southwesterly winds with gusts of 20 and 30 mph will create an elevated risk of wildfires spreading, according to the weather service.<\/p>\n

The public is urged to be cautious while handling any possible ignition sources, such as machinery, cigarettes or matches, the statement states.<\/p>\n

“If dry grasses and tree litter begin to burn, the fire will have the potential to spread rapidly,” the weather service states.<\/p>\n

AccuWeather.com says the wildfire risk is expected to continue into the week<\/a>. Little rain is in the forecast for southcentral Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n
