Syrian authorities discover a Hezbollah tunnel linking Syria and Lebanon used for smuggling weapons, along with a large shipment of IED components destined for Lebanon.<\/p>\n

Syrian<\/a> authorities in Homs located a tunnel used by Hezbollah<\/a> terrorists to smuggle weapons across the border into Lebanon<\/a>, state TV channel Al-Ikhbaria reported on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The regime’s security personnel also “seized several warehouses containing weapons and ammunition prepared for smuggling,” the report said.<\/p>\n

In a later Wednesday report, the TV channel announced that internal security authorities identified attempts to smuggle a “large shipment of explosive lighting” materials that were on their way to Lebanon<\/a>.<\/p>\n

These approximately 6,000 electric components were seized by authorities, the Interior Ministry confirmed.<\/p>\n

The components were likely intended to create improvised explosive devices, analysts say.<\/p>\n

The seizure took place in al-Nabk, north of Damascus, near the Syria-Lebanon border, across from Baalbek.<\/p>\n

Hezbollah’s position in Syria is believed to have been weakened since December 2024, when Ahmed al-Sharaa’s Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham deposed the Assad regime from power.<\/p>\n
