Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Latin patriarch of Jerusalem, called the act \u201ca grave affront to the Christian faith.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-[18px] md:text-[20px] first-of-type:mt-5 mt-[16px] lg:mt-[28px] leading-[28px] md:leading-8 normal \">In <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/IDF\/status\/2046589834341351758\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" class=\"text-red-500 hover-underline-animation-red\">a separate post<\/a>, the IDF confirmed that the soldier depicted with the sledgehammer and the soldier who took the photo will receive 30 days of military detention and will be removed from combat duty.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-[18px] md:text-[20px] first-of-type:mt-5 mt-[16px] lg:mt-[28px] leading-[28px] md:leading-8 normal \">Six other members of the IDF were present and did not act or report the incident, according to the IDF.
