US President Donald Trump’s administration has halted US dollar shipments to \u200bIraq and frozen security cooperation programs \u200cwith its military, as it presses Baghdad to dismantle Iranian-backed militias operating in the country, the \u200bWall Street Journal reported on Tuesday, citing \u200bIraqi and U.S. officials.<\/p>\n
U.S. Treasury Department \u2060officials recently blocked a delivery of nearly $500 \u200bmillion in U.S. banknotes – the proceeds of Iraqi \u200boil sales – from accounts at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the Journal said.<\/p>\n
