Additionally, chances for Ihsan Al-Awadi, the candidate backed by<br \/>\nAl-Ima&#8217;ar wal-Tanmiya, have declined due to objections from within the bloc<br \/>\nitself, the source noted, adding that the coalition is considering nominating<br \/>\nan alternative figure. <\/p>\n<p>According to the<br \/>\nsource, some CF leaders are expected to propose a compromise candidate backed<br \/>\nby all factions, with several names under consideration ahead of the evening<br \/>\nmeeting.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, MP Mahmoud<br \/>\nAl-Shammari from the Parliamentary Services (Khadamat) bloc revealed that<br \/>\nlawmakers are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shafaq.com\/en\/Iraq\/Iraqi-lawmakers-to-move-if-the-prime-minister-nomination-deadlock-persists\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">preparing<\/a> to collect signatures and submit a formal request to<br \/>\nthe Iraqi President to nominate a suitable candidate for prime minister if the<br \/>\nCoordination Framework fails to reach an agreement by Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The Framework had<br \/>\npostponed a previous meeting scheduled for April 22 after <a href=\"https:\/\/shafaq.com\/en\/Iraq\/Iraq-s-CF-delays-PM-nomination-over-disputes-on-cabinet-posts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">failing<\/a> to agree on a<br \/>\nnominee, following two inconclusive sessions.<\/p>\n<p>Under Iraq\u2019s<br \/>\npost-2003 power-sharing system, the presidency is held by a Kurd, the<br \/>\npremiership by a Shiite, and the speakership by a Sunni Arab. Parliament<br \/>\nelected Nizar Amedi as president on April 11, initiating the process to<br \/>\nnominate a prime minister.
