{"id":82203,"date":"2026-04-24T19:48:11","date_gmt":"2026-04-24T19:48:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/82203\/"},"modified":"2026-04-24T19:48:11","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T19:48:11","slug":"tehran-airport-set-to-resume-international-flights-saturday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/82203\/","title":{"rendered":"Tehran airport set to resume international flights Saturday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TEHRAN \u2014 Iran is expected to resume passenger flights from Tehran&#8217;s Imam Khomeini International Airport starting Saturday, with Istanbul and Muscat among the initial destinations.<\/p>\n<p>International passenger flights will resume on April 25 after being suspended during the war, Ramin Kashef Azar, CEO of Imam Khomeini Airport City, told the Iranian Labor News Agency (ILNA).<\/p>\n<p>Round-trip flights to Istanbul and Muscat have so far been authorized, he said, adding that permits for additional domestic and international routes will be issued gradually based on demand.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll infrastructure and navigation systems are fully operational, and there are no issues for conducting flights,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>During the ceasefire period, the airport remained active for cargo operations, while foreign airlines also moved their aircraft out of it, he added.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Iran\u2019s national carrier Iran Air began restoring domestic passenger services earlier this week, with the first flight on the Tehran-Mashhad route operated on April 22, according to the state news agency IRNA.<\/p>\n<p>The airline is scheduled to continue domestic flights on April 25 and 26 as part of a gradual return to normal operations.<\/p>\n<p>The resumption of flights comes after air traffic was largely disrupted following the onset of war on Feb. 28, when the United States and Israel launched a joint offensive on Iran, prompting retaliatory strikes by Tehran.<\/p>\n<p>The war has been on hold since April 8 under a ceasefire mediated by Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p>Washington and Tehran held talks in Pakistan the previous weekend, with efforts underway to arrange a new round of negotiations.<\/p>\n<p>US President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the ceasefire would remain in place following a request from Pakistan until Iran presents what he described as a \u201cunified proposal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Iran\u2019s airspace was slammed shut by the US-Israeli war with Iran that began on February 28 and is only slowly being reopened during the ceasefire.<\/p>\n<p>Officials announced last week that Mashhad airport, which serves the country\u2019s second city in the far northeast, would reopen on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, tracking data showed at least two international flights departing the airport, to Turkey and Oman respectively.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"TEHRAN \u2014 Iran is expected to resume passenger flights from Tehran&#8217;s Imam Khomeini International Airport starting Saturday, with&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":82204,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[542,543,559,34,29471,5308,8035,69,603],"class_list":{"0":"post-82203","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-tehran","8":"tag-airport","9":"tag-flights","10":"tag-international","11":"tag-iran","12":"tag-resume","13":"tag-saturday","14":"tag-set","15":"tag-tehran","16":"tag-to"},"share_on_mastodon":{"url":"https:\/\/pubeurope.com\/@iran\/116461417449016586","error":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/82203","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=82203"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/82203\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/82204"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=82203"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=82203"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=82203"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
