At least nine Lebanese civilians were killed and 13 others wounded in Israeli airstrikes on multiple towns in southern Lebanon on Thursday, marking yet another violation of the temporary ceasefire that began last month, according to Lebanese media.<\/p>\n
Residential buildings destroyed in three towns<\/p>\n
The state-run National News Agency reported that three people died and seven were injured in a strike on Jibchit, where a residential building was completely destroyed. In the town of Toul, four were killed and six wounded after another residential structure was hit. Two more fatalities were recorded in Harouf, where an Israeli aircraft struck a house. Israeli warplanes also targeted Sultaniyeh, while artillery shelling hit the outskirts of Zawtar al-Sharqiya and Mifadoun.<\/p>\n
Ceasefire violations continue daily<\/p>\n
Since March 2, Israel has waged a deadly offensive on Lebanon that has killed at least 2,534 people, wounded 7,863, and displaced more than 1.6 million \u2014 roughly one-fifth of the country\u2019s population.
