{"id":92207,"date":"2026-05-01T04:31:11","date_gmt":"2026-05-01T04:31:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/92207\/"},"modified":"2026-05-01T04:31:11","modified_gmt":"2026-05-01T04:31:11","slug":"lebanon-community-rallies-for-3-sport-star-amburgys-cancer-battle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/92207\/","title":{"rendered":"Lebanon community rallies for 3-sport star Amburgy&#8217;s cancer battle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tThe most special nights around sporting events are the rare occasion when an entire community, and even both sides of a bitter rivalry, come together for the common good.Lebanon High School and its tight-knit surrounding community witnessed one of those nights on Thursday.Lebanon 3-sport athlete Zach Amburgy, one of just nine students in this year&#8217;s senior class to letter in a varsity sport in all three athletic seasons, threw out a ceremonial first pitch ahead of the Warriors &#8220;Rivers Bend&#8221; rivalry game vs Kings High School.Amburgy usually would be busy at lacrosse practice, but on Thursday, his fellow classmates needed him on the diamond.Earlier this month Amburgy, after a prolonged period of simply not feeling like himself, was diagnosed with Fibrolamellar Hepatocellular Carcinoma.This rare diagnosis is found in only 1% of liver cancers and after a multi-week hospitalization, the 18-year-old recently underwent his first round of chemotherapy.Thursday night, with the Warriors ditching their normal maroon uniforms for custom &#8220;Amburgy Strong&#8221; jerseys, Lebanon community members flocked to the ballpark and made &#8220;Packed for Zach&#8221; a smash hit.&#8221;It makes me feel great,&#8221; Amburgy told WLWT. &#8220;I love the support. All the people in the stands are my friends. It felt amazing.
