Jennings unloaded on Adam Mockler during a clash over the popularity of the war with Iran<\/a> on CNN\u2019s Newsnight with Abby Phillip. <\/p>\n The heated conversation was sparked by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth<\/a> telling lawmakers on Thursday that, when he speaks to Americans, they are \u201cgrateful\u201d for a president who is willing to take on the Islamic Republic<\/a>. However, a CNN poll<\/a> found in March that nearly six in 10 Americans did not back the war.\u200b<\/p>\n Tensions began to flare when Jennings accused 23 year-old Mockler, who has repeatedly criticised the ongoing conflict, of becoming \u201chyper\u201d after his \u201cbedtime.\u201d\u200b<\/p>\n As the encounter spiralled, Mockler took a swipe at the former George W. Bus<\/a>h<\/a> staffer for the 2003 Iraq War<\/a>. <\/p>\n \u200b\u201cWe all know that Scott Jennings is more than happy to defend a war with a country that starts with letters \u2018I-r-a\u2019 that we are currently failing, that is going to put us trillions and trillions of dollars more in debt,\u201d Mockler said. \u200b<\/p>\n \u201cI was only a few years old while you were in the administration defending prior endless wars. Now this war is failing.\u201d<\/p>\n The fiery exchange erupted as Jennings<\/a> claimed Mockler had the \u201cattention span of a gnat\u201d for believing that the war with Iran, which began in February, was \u201cendless.\u201d<\/p>\n \u200bIn his response, Mockler accused the pundit of making \u201ccondescending remarks\u201d and asked him to name a political concession made by Iran<\/a>, gesticulating with his hands as he did so. \u200b<\/p>\n Jennings fired back, \u201cGet your f***ing hand out of my face, first of all.\u201d<\/p>\n \u200bAt that point, the show\u2019s host, Abby Phillip<\/a>, interrupted, saying, \u201cGuys, excuse me.\u201d\u200b<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m not going to have this guy\u2019s hand in my face,\u201d Jennings responded. \u200b<\/p>\n After Mockler demanded to know what concessions the United States had won from Iran, Jennings said that the U.S. was focused on preventing the Islamic Republic from obtaining a nuclear weapon<\/a>. \u200b<\/p>\n Mockler later slammed Jennings on X, accusing him<\/a> of being a \u201cgrown man on the verge of tears because he can\u2019t answer a question.\u201d<\/p>\n In another X post<\/a>, he claimed that Jennings \u201cloves to dish it but can\u2019t take it.\u201d\u200b<\/p>\n Jennings\u2019 outburst quickly went viral on social media, with one account comparing his behavior to a fight on a popular Bravo<\/a> show. \u200b<\/p>\n \u201cScott Jennings on CNN fighting like he’s on the real housewives (sic),\u201d the X user wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n![\"Scott](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Screenshot-2026-05-01-at-09-11-56.png\")
