ISLAMABAD (AP) \u2014 President Donald Trump said on Friday that he\u2019s \u201cnot satisfied\u201d with Iran\u2019s latest proposal in negotiations to end war between the countries.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey want to make a deal, I\u2019m not satisfied with it, so we\u2019ll see what happens,\u201d Trump told reporters Friday at the White House.<\/p>\n
Trump did not elaborate on what he sees as the proposal\u2019s shortcomings.<\/p>\n
The president said negotiations have continued by phone after he called off his envoys\u2019 trip to Pakistan last week. He expressed frustration with Iran\u2019s leadership, which he described as fractured.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a very disjointed leadership,\u201d he said. \u201cThey all want to make a deal, but they\u2019re all messed up.\u201d<\/p>\n

ISLAMABAD (AP) \u2014 Iran has handed over its latest\u00a0proposal for negotiations<\/a>\u00a0with the United States to mediators in Pakistan, Iran\u2019s state-run IRNA news agency reported Friday.<\/p>\n The U.S. and Pakistan did not immediately confirm receiving the new proposal. There was no word on what details are included in the plan submitted late Thursday, according to the report.<\/p>\n A shaky three-week ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran appears to be still holding though both countries have traded accusations of violations.<\/p>\n While the\u00a0ceasefire<\/a>\u00a0has largely halted fighting in Iran, the U.S. and Iran are locked in a standoff over the\u00a0Strait of Hormuz<\/a>, through which a fifth of the world\u2019s traded oil and gas passes in peacetime. A U.S. Navy blockade stopping Iran\u2019s tankers from getting out to sea has\u00a0Iran\u2019s economy reeling<\/a>. The world economy is also under pressure as Iran maintains its chokehold on the strait.<\/p>\n
