{"id":95031,"date":"2026-05-03T02:51:10","date_gmt":"2026-05-03T02:51:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/95031\/"},"modified":"2026-05-03T02:51:10","modified_gmt":"2026-05-03T02:51:10","slug":"middle-east-states-eye-transport-resilience-with-new-logistics-corridor-to-bypass-hormuz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/95031\/","title":{"rendered":"Middle East states eye transport resilience with new logistics corridor to bypass Hormuz"},"content":{"rendered":"<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Middle Eastern governments are dusting off decades-old proposals for overland oil and gas pipelines, and urgently drawing up plans for new rail-sea transport corridors in a belated response to the wartime disruption of major maritime trade through the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">With the threats to these key shipping lanes and economic infrastructure set to linger after the multifront conflict between the US-Israel alliance and the Iran-led Axis of Resistance draws to a close, other governments in the region \u2013 led by Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates \u2013 are looking to build a new trade architecture with multiple nodes linking the Indian Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">These new projects reflect what analysts describe as a \u201cstructural shift\u201d in the Middle East\u2019s logistics, moving away from dependence on the region\u2019s established but vulnerable infrastructure in the Persian Gulf.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">\u201cEventually a return to utilising established infrastructure will resume, but that won\u2019t necessarily fully stop structural shifts that started in the meantime,\u201d said Robert Mogielnicki, founder of PoliSphere Advisory, a Middle East-focused geoeconomic consultancy based in Paris.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Tankers are seen at the Khor Fakkan Container Terminal, the only natural deep-sea port in the region and one of the major container ports in the Sharjah Emirate, along the Strait of Hormuz.
