(Niv Aharonson)<\/p>\n<p>Satire show \u201cEretz Nehederet\u201d won four awards, including\u00a0Best Satire and Sketch Show, Best Writing, Satire, Best Costume Design, Best Visual Effects and Special Makeup.<\/p>\n<p>The late actor Alon Abutbul, who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesofisrael.com\/leading-israeli-actor-alon-abutbul-suddenly-dies-after-collapsing-at-beach\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">collapsed and died<\/a> at a beach last summer, was honored with two awards: Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his role in Yes TV\u2019s \u201cThe German,\u201d and Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy-Drama or Sitcom for Kan\u2019s \u201cYekumot,\u201d also known as \u201cAKA.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>His sister-in-law accepted one award on his behalf, reading a message from his children, while the second award was accepted by \u201cYekumot\u201d creator Roy Kafri, who won for Best Actor in a Comedy.<\/p>\n<p>Tiki Dayan won Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her performance in Kan\u2019s \u201cHappy Place,\u201d and Rotem Sela received the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy-Drama or Sitcom for her role in Yes Studio\u2019s \u201cBloody Murray.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\t<a href=\"https:\/\/static-cdn.toi-media.com\/www\/uploads\/2026\/05\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-05-03-at-22.49.50.jpeg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-3815727\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-05-03-at-22.49.50-640x400.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"375\"\/><\/a><br \/>\n\t\tUvda\u2019s Ilana Dayan accepts the Israeli Academy of Film and Television award for Best Investigative Program on May 3, 2026. (Shlomi Yosef)<\/p>\n<p>Kan\u2019s \u201cMy Nephew from Hell\u201d won three awards in the children\u2019s and youth categories, while Kan\u2019s \u201cCramel\u201d was named Best Drama Series for Children and Youth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTehran\u201d producer Shula Spiegel presented the award won by \u201cCramel\u201d and paid tribute to her late creative partner, Dana Eden, who died unexpectedly in Athens a few months ago during \u201cTehran\u201d filming.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI take every opportunity to honor the memory of my beloved partner,\u201d Spiegel said. \u201cOn Wednesday, I stood onstage alone for the first time, and once again reality struck. You weren\u2019t there, dear Dana. Nearly 20 years of extraordinary partnership, years of creating together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A memorable moment during the evening was when news anchor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesofisrael.com\/may-your-village-burn-jewish-extremists-protest-at-arab-journalists-home-for-5th-time-this-week\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lucy Aharish<\/a> \u2014 who faced right-wing threats earlier this year over criticism she voiced of the government \u2014 presented the award for Best Investigative Program to Ilana Dayan of Keshet\u2019s \u201cUvda,\u201d and spoke about what she described as the weakening of the media over the last few years, and the role of the press in a democratic society.<\/p>\n<p>\t<a href=\"https:\/\/static-cdn.toi-media.com\/www\/uploads\/2026\/05\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-05-03-at-22.56.24-e1777843346602.jpeg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-3815731\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-05-03-at-22.56.24-e1777843346602-640x400.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"375\"\/><\/a><br \/>\n\t\tNews anchor Lucy Aharish presents an award at the Israeli Academy of Film and Television ceremony on May 3, 2026. (Niv Aharonson)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince October 7 [2023] these years have required all of us to engage in some soul-searching \u2014 about what truly matters here, about what we chose to focus on, about what we neglected, about the questions we failed to ask, and especially about what we normalized simply because we gave it a platform,\u201d said Aharish. \u201cThe responsibility for what is happening here does not rest solely with the leadership that brought us to these days. It also rests with us \u2014 with every one of us. It lies in what we say, what we broadcast, and, above all, in what we want to leave behind for our children.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After Dayan was presented with the award for \u201cUvda,\u201d the investigative journalist, who has conducted in-depth interviews with several former hostages, spoke about seeing shocking, difficult materials related to Hamas\u2019s October 7 onslaught.
