{"id":97649,"date":"2026-05-04T18:58:12","date_gmt":"2026-05-04T18:58:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/97649\/"},"modified":"2026-05-04T18:58:12","modified_gmt":"2026-05-04T18:58:12","slug":"eurovision-israels-noam-bettan-reherses-in-vienna","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/97649\/","title":{"rendered":"Eurovision: Israel&#8217;s Noam Bettan reherses in Vienna"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Noam Bettan, Israel\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/article-894889\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">2026 Eurovision<\/a> contestant, sailed through his first rehearsal on Sunday of the song, \u201cMichelle,\u201d at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna, along with his five backup dancers, and still found time to pose for a photo with Boy George, the former frontman of the iconic Culture Club band.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/diaspora\/antisemitism\/article-894024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Boy George<\/a> will be performing in Eurovision this year with San Marino\u2019s official contestant, Senhit, on her song, \u201cSuperstar,\u201d and has posted often recently on social media about his feeling of solidarity with Jews during a time of rising antisemitism around the world.<\/p>\n<p>Fans who are eager to see how Bettan\u2019s full <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/tags\/eurovision\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Eurovision<\/a> performance will look will be interested to know that while in the music video for \u201cMichelle,\u201d he wears a white shirt, a tie, and trousers with a leather jacket, in the rehearsal, he is dressed head-to-toe in black leather.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">And although in the video for \u201cMichelle,\u201d the dancers are in shorts, white turtlenecks, and leather jackets, in the rehearsal, they are seen in bodysuits that are half white and half brown, with white leather boots. The black leather for Bettan and more revealing outfits for the dancers are in keeping with the flashiness of Eurovision. They performed in front of a diamond-shaped backdrop, which is illuminated by white and aqua lights.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Bettan posted a video in which he spoke in English on his Instagram account, saying, \u201cOK, wow, wow, it was amazing on stage, I had an amazing time, I had an amazing sound, the dancers are amazing, I can\u2019t wait for you all to see it as soon as possible, and let\u2019s go. Let\u2019s have fun. Let\u2019s go, Israel.\u201d He ended by blowing a kiss.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Fans\u2019 reactions on social media to the new costumes were mixed, with Jack Lawson commenting that the dancers looked like black-and-white cookies. Other Instagram users were more positive, with Marwan Jaber writing, \u201cBig love from Syria,\u201d and others posting thumbs up and hearts.<\/p>\n<p>Eurovision will open with the first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/culture\/article-883237\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">semifinal<\/a> on May 12, and Israel will perform that night. The second semifinal will be on May 14 and the final will be on May 16.
