A restaurant in the Pittsburgh area is under Consumer Alert after a recent inspection by the Allegheny County Health Department.<\/p>\n
Inspectors found 16 total violations, including four considered high risk, at Carbonara\u2019s Ristorante in Mt. Lebanon. The Consumer Alert was posted on April 30.<\/p>\n
Those high-risk violations include pasta and beans found in a container observed at 44 degrees a day after they were prepared.<\/p>\n
Cold-holding foods must be at 41 degree or lower to be in the safe zone.<\/p>\n
Another item was found slightly above the safe zone temperature as well. The Health Department says those are repeat violations.<\/p>\n
Other issues include sliced meats, prepared sandwiches, cooked steak and tuna salad in the pizza prep cooler temped between 49 and 53 degrees. <\/p>\n
Employees were found with beverages without lids or straws in the kitchen and one employee was seen entering the bar area coughing without covering their mouth or washing their hands.<\/p>\n
The last high-risk violation observed was the dish machine not working and three-bowl sink was not set up to properly sanitize. During the inspection the sink was properly set up.<\/p>\n
The Health Department says \u201call violations must be corrected and at least two persons in charge must be registered for an upcoming CFPM class.<\/p>\n
